The "bee's knee's". I can recall my grandfather using that phrase when I was a little girl. I think it meant that I was "the bomb". If that is the case, then Cloister Honey, you guys definitely are the Bee's Knee's!!
A Southern Living Food Award winner in 2015, Cloister Honey is creating small batch, artisan honey in flavors and textures that are a bit out of the jar, if you will. Whipped honey, honey spreads, smoky pepper infused honey, honeycombs! I just can't seem to get enough! Our shelves are stocked, and we are ready to fill you with inspiration to pick up a jar and see what you can create with this delicious treat. We have some ideas here, too:
Cinnamon Whipped Honey: spread on biscuits, English muffins, sliced apples, bananas. Toss with warm carrots, add a spoonful to oatmeal. Drizzle over ice cream. Add to apple pie filling prior to baking.
Ghost Pepper Whipped Honey: use as a spread on a sandwich, glaze some chicken wings. Add to bottled BBQ sauce to kick it up a notch!
Lavender Whipped Honey: spread on a croissant, add a spoonful to Earl Grey or Chamomile tea. Pair with figs, pears, or any blue veined cheese and a nice crusty bread.
Lemon Whipped Honey: combine with olive oil and salt & pepper to make a salad dressing, spread on a breakfast muffin, glazed a piece a salmon and grill, rim a glass with honey and raw sugar and enjoy your favorite beverage.
Salted Honey Spread: add to sweet potato casserole, hot apple cider, oatmeal. Smear on toast, simple and delicious!
Pumpkin Spice Whipped Honey: spread on biscuits, add to oatmeal, sweet potatoes. Add a spoonful to Chai tea. Add to mashed butternut squash, YUM!
There are so many other applications for these delicious varieties of honey. Ribs, steak, cocktails, root veggies, pies, cakes, and so much more! I would love to know what you would do with your Cloister Honey. Stop in, let's talk honey. If you do, maybe I'll call you the Bee's Knee's!!
Stay sweet, my friends!!

But all is not lost, I consulted an expert, my wife Lori Greene. (Here is a batch of her correspondence going out today!)
